Intro
Switching Versions is a student-made exploration of how we curate different “Switching Versions” refers to the way people present different versions of themselves on different social media platforms. Each platform has a different purpose. People use different platforms for different purposes and also with different audiences. Therefore, this leads to a change in people’s identities across different platforms.
Stories
I am an international student. I live in the central of a multicultural environment. Therefore, for me, different platforms, especially those from different cultural backgrounds, are very different. My performances on these Eastern and Western platforms are completely different. This is largely dependent on factors such as language, audience and familiarity.
On this website, I will discuss my own digital landscape and communicative practices. Using myself as a case study, I will observe and document the social media platforms I use. I will analyze the different ways in which I express myself on these platforms.
